Dr. Samuel White, III is the proud son of Samuel White II and Anna White. He graduated with honors from Brockport State College, earned a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and a Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, and completed his Doctor of Ministry degree from Drew University.Dr. White pastored United Methodist Churches from 1984 to 1995. He became the senior pastor of the historic Friendship Baptist Church located in Detroit Michigan in 1996. He served as the President of the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention and received the Progressive Baptist Convention and received the Progressive National Baptist Award, Rev. Charles Hill Award, and the Detroit Minister of the Year Award.Dr. White was the Academic Dean and professor at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary, where he taught seminarians from a wide variety of faith traditions and ethnic backgrounds. He has taught courses on Grief Ministry, Spiritual Care for Souls, Hospice Care, Care for the Aging and Dying, and Chaplaincy.Dr. White is the Spiritual Care Coordinator for PACE of Southeast Michigan, which provides spiritual, medical, social, and emotional care for over 800 aging adults.
